Tonight I am going to a birthday celebration.
In fact, it is a multiple birthday ecelebration. Woo! Yay! Hoopla!
Except... we will be going to Martine's in East Grinstead.
I'm considering taking a flame thrower.

I have just discovered The Portsmouth Sinfonia.
It is amazing.
It is sunshine yellow shot through with electric blue lightning and gold and white sparkles.
I am in love.

AND THEN, I DIED.
THE END.
*is exhausted*
Up at 7.30, did a kid's holiday thing from 9-12.30 (fun but busy), job hunting, lunch, packed up a bit more stuff, more job hunting, got out kit for guide camp (took an hour and a half), and I know once I've had my dinner I've got to pack my camp kit.
Uurgh uurgh uurgh. At least Vyvian is helping me, by display my current internal anguish through the medium of interpretive dance.
Edit: But at least I managed to buy the chicken for my dinner reduced to 89p instead of £2.79. It's the little things, isn't it?

Inglourious Basterds?
Brilliantly bonkers.
Go! See! Laugh at Pitt's accent! Cry at the bit with the thing and the thing with the thing in the background! Eat your knuckles and squirm in terror for the entire first "chapter!" Shout "NOOOOO" at the screen when he asks to see her thing and he has the thing!!
:D

Yes, we know what women's underwear looks like. Yes, we know which parts of the anatomy it covers. And yes, the story is about a man stealing women's underwear.
But, really, do we have to use that picture?

Reserved the name Zinzyn for my goblin rogue. For real, I have wanted a goblin rogue since I started playing. Pant-creaming may have occurred.
What about you lot?

Spent the weekend at Bod's, watching a silly amount of films. Was ace. They were, in order, V for Vendetta, Cashback, Black Sheep, Death Proof, Planet Terror* and Tokyo Gore Police.
They were all awesome in their own special way. I can't quite decide which was my favourite, as... well... they were all fantastic.
V for Vendetta
Well, everyone should at least be vaguely familiar with this. Dark humour, beautifully paced monologues and a mysterious villain character that you spend most of the film trying to work out if he is bad or good (and eventually decide that he is the perfect amount of both)? Yes pls. Surprisingly gentle and sensitive too; I found myself truly moved at several points. Lots of thinly-veiled references to 1984, but that's not really a bad thing, and I was genuinely a bit shocked when ( SPOILERS LOL ) Definitely, definitely a sweet and delicious antidote to the poison that was the third Matrix film.
Cashback
I was a bit cynical at first, due to the cover; it looked very much as if it was going to be a British version of American Pie or Road Trip, or that kind of "teenage comedy" that was popular a few years back. I was, frankly, pleasantly surprised. Yes, there were moments that had me giggling like a child, and yes, there were several scenes which delivered the perfect amount of slapstick and punnery; but also there were hauntingly beautiful moments. The whole film is about finding love and beauty in the secret moments in life, and a combination of a wonderfully subtle sound track and gorgeous cinematography/lighting dragged you into the screen, immersedyou in the story and let you see the world through the eyes of Ben, our hero, where there is beauty in everything. A genuine treat.
And on that note, the rest of the reviews can wait til later, as I'm going to get myself a cornetto.
*Yes, I know they are technically one double-feature, but we bought them as two seperate dvds so they count as two separate films in my world.

I have flu.
I feel poop.
I spent from 10.30pm Friday night until 4pm today (Sunday) in bed.
I'm only up because my body is cramping from lack of movement (at least shifting position in my chair keeps the blood flowing).
I have a fever yet am still shivering.
I have a headache, feel sick, can't stop sneezing/coughing and earlier I hacked up a lump of phlegm the size of a d20.
Now, here's a picture of a child being stalked by a vulture while he crawls to a UN food camp.
Warning: is large and somewhat distressing.
