I have an interview for the job of Parish Youth Worker next saturday; which, to be frank, is awesome.
However, within the one hour interview I need to do a short presentation (as if it were to the local Church Council) entitled Teenagers: Faith in a Materialistic Age.
This is such a crazily big topic I have no idea how to narrow it down to 10 minutes.
So, my darling flisties, I do would anyone would do in given such a predicament: ASK LJ!! Can anyone give me ideas, thoughts or opinions? Feel free to point other people towards this entry; anonymous posts also welcome.

Sorry, no help, I know. Assuming the server doesn't cock up (again) it'll get linked tomorrow.
Actually, belief in material rationality is as much a faith as anything else—I believe there are no gods, I can't prove it. It's better to believe something than either nothing or anything as Chesterton may or may not have said.
So perhaps something linked to promoting belief with a backing instead of conspiracy theories &c?
Meh, I'm not the person to ask.
Not so! Any contribution is valued. As was that comment, ta muchly.
To be more specific, when I was confirmed, I'd realised a couple of months before I didn't believe in god. I'd been going to confirmation classes, which were more about general thigns in the church and less about "So, do you actually believe? Why? Why not?".
I can still remember the moment, walking from my house to the bus stop for my bus to school:
First thought "So, do I actually believe in god?" *ponders for a bit* "No."
Second thought: "Given that, do I want to tell people that, and that I don't want to get confirmed? Do I want to deal with being questioned on that, any and all the argy-bargy that may come from that?" *ponders for a bit* "No."
